With fast or complex movement, such as spinning, jumping or overlapping arms and legs, the guess becomes inaccurate and glitches appear: an extra joint, a leg that changes length, or an arm that briefly melts through the body.

The rule of thumb: the faster and more complex the movement, the higher the chance of distortion. Calm, purposeful motion gives the most stable results.

Describe one clear main movement

Put a single dominant movement at the center of your prompt, with a direction and pace, instead of a vague mood. The model needs an anchor, not adjectives.

  • Concrete over abstract: "she slowly turns once on the spot, arms lightly spread" works better than "energetic dance".
  • State the direction: toward the camera, left to right, upward. A single clear direction is easier to render than chaos.
  • Avoid several fast movements at once. A jump plus a spin plus swinging arms in the same second stacks up the chance of errors.
  • Add "natural motion blur". A little blur softens the jump between frames; a clinically sharp image shows every mistake mercilessly.

That last point matches how film works: at 24 frames per second the 180-degree shutter rule calls for a shutter speed of roughly 1/48 second, which produces the natural blur we read as smooth.

Choose pace, camera and clip length wisely

Your setup matters as much as your prompt. Three dials that help right away:

  1. Meter the pace. Let a sprint be a firm jog, or slow a dance down slightly. Moderate, steady movement stays most stable; extreme speed is precisely where models produce morphing and limb glitches.
  2. Keep the camera calm, or let it move along. A camera that turns against the motion stacks two fast movements on top of each other. Have the camera follow the subject (tracking) or hold still, so only one movement plays at a time.
  3. Work in short clips. The longer the clip, the more small errors accumulate (drift). Keep a fast action short and build a longer sequence out of several pieces.

What to do when it still goes wrong

If the motion breaks anyway, go back to the anchor instead of pushing harder.

  • Start from a strong opening frame. With image-to-video you give the video generator a sharp, well-proportioned starting photo to hold on to. A correct anchor reduces the chance the body derails in the very first frame.
  • Split the movement. Generate the run-up, the peak and the landing as separate, shorter parts and stitch them together with video-extend, instead of forcing everything into one render.
